Bass Philip Premium Pinot Noir 2016
Semi translucent faintly hazy red colour with a light crimson red hue. Blossoming from the glass are perfumed scents of violets, red and dark cherries as well as anise tempered by hints of sour cherries. Notions of herbs and spicy cedar also chime in. Showing Pinot Noirs classic power without weight trait the palate is flooded with flavours of ripe red and dark cherries, and traces of sour cherries over a back drop of fresh herb infusions, forest floor characters and subtle spicy cedar. Terrific length with the flavours fanning out across the palate like a peacock’s tail. Very supple mouthfeel with silky smooth tannins and vibrant fresh acidity on the finish. Long ripe red and sour cherry, fresh herb, forest floor, subtle meaty cedar and spice aftertaste.
