ABOUT:
\n
Pataua (Oenocarpus bataua) is a tall palm tree native to South America, and commonly found throughout the Amazon region.  Its fruit is used in the making of wine by the local communities, hence its scientific name, Oenocarpus, which translates into “wine-fruitâ€.
\nThe Pataua oil extracted from the fruit’s pulp is popularly used in salads and fried food because its composition, rich in essential fatty acids, is very similar to the olive oil. Also rich in oleic acid, the oil is a powerful moisturiser, with revitalising and emollient properties, light texture and non-greasy feel.
